New Year Retrospective instead of New Year Resolutions
At this time of the year, we are surrounded with advice about the new year's resolutions. We have to make realistic ones. We have to fulfill them. We have to keep the motivation. And millions of ideas how to achieve all of the above. But, you know what? Despite all these great advice, most of us cannot even start. And many of those who actually enthusiastically follow their resolutions at the beginning of the year, sooner or later give up. Professionals say that fewer than 10% manage to keep them for more than a few months.
So, why not try something else instead? This year we are very fond of the idea to take a little retrospective journey to our past year. A positive journey, full of empowerment and gratefulness. What do you say? Keep reading to get a few ideas …
What Can We Look Back to?
To reinforce our motivation, it is good to follow our progress, they say. And a good way of seeing your progress is trying to remember the good things in life. Is there something you have achieved? Did something amazing happen to you? Was there anything that you've seen/heard/felt for the first time? The best part is that it doesn't have to be big. Just something that made you feel good and like you are in the right place at the right time. We've prepared some ideas that might ring a bell.
1. Going on regular walks.
2. Adopting a pet from the shelter.
3. Reading a good book.
4. Learning a new relaxation technique.
5. Visiting a new place.
6. Trying out a new healthy recipe.
7. Starting a new friendship or reconnecting with an old friend or family member.
